Client Services Account Manager

Role purpose

This is a sales driven client services role. The Account Manager is responsible for bringing in new business and for nurturing, retaining and growing the clients they look after. It combines a genuine hunter mentality on new business with the care and consistency of a trusted account manager. The person in this role is the human face of Famous Wolf to the client, and the bridge between the client and our delivery team.

The successful candidate is not expected to arrive with marketing knowledge. Full training on our services and terminology is provided. What matters is sales ability, relationship skill, attention to detail and the right attitude.

Key responsibilities

New business

  • Win new clients through consultative, needs led selling, both from inbound enquiries and proactive outreach.
  • Represent Famous Wolf at high-value networking and events, positioning us as a premium, expert agency.
  • Sell the wider Famous Wolf product range where it fits the client, including SaaS, advertising space on the sister website and out of home digital display boards.

Onboarding and client care

  • Act as the primary point of contact for new and existing clients from day one.
  • Run a structured onboarding for every new client, capturing the full brief and requirements.
  • Conduct a structured debrief with the relevant team members using a compiled data document, so delivery starts on the right foot.
  • Maintain regular check-ins that keep clients informed, reassured and confident in the work.

Relationship, retention and growth

  • Own client satisfaction and retention, building deep, trusted relationships over time.
  • Identify genuine opportunities to upsell and grow accounts, always based on data and real value rather than fees for their own sake.
  • Handle client concerns calmly, professionally and with attention to detail, protecting the relationship and keeping clients happy.

Reporting and team liaison

  • Serve as the liaison between the client and the agency, attending end of month reporting meetings alongside specialists such as paid ads and social.
  • Present results, provide reassurance and identify opportunities for strategic improvement.
  • Communicate the client’s needs to the delivery team and the Operations Director clearly and in the right level of detail, so the team can deliver to the optimal standard. Project delivery and deadlines sit with the Operations Director, allowing the Account Manager to focus on the client and the relationship.

Performance and targets

Targets are set collaboratively and ramp up over the first six months, starting gently to allow a proper settling in period and building towards an established run rate. Targets are seasonally adjusted, particularly through the fourth quarter when inbound lead volume rises.

  • Month 1: entry-level target (settling in).
  • Month 3: increased target.
  • Months 4 to 6: more substantial targets introduced, building towards the full run rate.

The six month probation gives the Account Manager time to integrate into the workflow and reach these targets.

Remuneration

The role carries a base salary, positioned to reflect the strong commission earning potential of the role, which is where the real financial upside sits.

Progression

This role is designed to grow into a Sales Director position. As the Account Manager proves themselves, they will have the opportunity to recruit, manage and earn override commission from a wider sales team, taking on greater leadership and responsibility over time.
